Default Check VSC, CEL, and traction light

Hi all. I have an 06' IS350. Recently I have been noticing the CEL, traction, and Check VSC light turning on and off. Some days it'll be on for 1-3 days, and others it'll be off for a whole week. This has been going on for half a year now. I replaced the sensor but that did nothing.

Please advise, thanks!

Please post the list of codes you are getting, and the sensor you replaced.

It was the O2 sensor. The code was P2197.

Is the sensor an OEM denso?

The cause could be bad contact connections. Bad wiring might be shorting itself out. Hence its an off and on cel. When you replaced the sensor did you notice any corrosion on the plug? Someone recently wash the engine?

Corrosion was evident on the sensor. I did have the engine swapped (65k) a few weeks ago. As soon as i got the engine swapped, I had the sensor replaced too. About two weeks after this, I started getting the VSC and CEL lights on again. I also have an RR-Racing tune on the car. I'm not sure if that helps with diagnosing the problem.

So with the original engine, and new sensor you had this code? Then you swapped in new engine pulling off the 02 from the old to new? If you had the RR tune back when the engine was in. I would revert to the original stock tune, and see if that helps.

With the original engine and old sensor, I had this code. After swapping the engine and replacing the sensor, the code went away for about 2 weeks. Now it's just coming on and off every few days. I'll try setting back to stock but i know of many people with the RR tune that haven't really had this problem. So i was speculating that it had something to do with the air-fuel ratio sensor.

Did you use the original engine harness for the swap?
