2012 IS250 fog light
Hi,
The cover of the passenger side fog light was smashed by a freeway flying rock, the light still turn on. Does anyone has idea to fix it?
These are my thinking: Please provide procedure to do:
1. How to replace the fog light housing?
2. Or replace the cover?
3. Not sure what kind of light bulb is it? If it is high heat, will water splash crack the bulb?
Thanks,

If you have 2012, consider getting OEM or OE style LED replacements, they are cheap now. better than LED bulbs in factory housing.
Did the fog light break or the trim around it?

slight trimming of bracket to install. check this thread.

Hi,
Thanks for the info about the replacement part.
I need to know how to change the fog light housing. I cannot find on internet.
Since the bulb still turn on, if changing the housing is difficult, anyway to just put something transparent to cover it?

Its a halogen bulb, plastic will not live. You need to replace the housing. I'd suggest Morimoto LEDs.
Two options; Turn the wheels and undo the fender liner. This is a PITA.
Get the car up and remover the plastic belly pan. Lights are held with just two bolts. DO NOT use or confuse these short bolts with others or you strip the mount which is the front bumper.
Look here at post #88 for install.
