My 2006 Lexus IS250 dash board and door panels are all sticky and splitting apart. This cannot be normal for the calibre of vehicle and replacement should be in order.
It was a problem not just with Lexus, but Toyota as well. Lexus did address it by extending warranty for 10 years but many owners never bothered to get it done because probably the problem takes years to manifest in some cases. My 2010 IS350 had a small sticky patch that was not even noticeable, but once I found out my car was still covered I took it the dealer right away, and in January I got a brand new dash. The extended warranty ends this year for my years model
My car doesn't have the problem until its 12 year. And it just started -- not that bad ... I think I'll do it myself when it gets little worst or when I'm bored lol The dash seems to be about $290.

I also do that
It is the door panels that are crazy expensive. As an update, no dice from Lexus to provide the door panels - they will only provide the the dash (part only). I emailed my dealership to find out how much just the door panel replacement will be - I will prob just do the dash, or maybe dash and the drivers door - esp if there is no discount in doing all of it. No one really rides in the back seat, and since we got a GX end of last summer, even less likely we will put anyone back there.
Email from Lexus:
This letter is to confirm Lexus’ goodwill offer of 100% (Parts Only) for the replacement dashboard in your 2007 Lexus IS 250, Vehicle Identification Number XXXXX. This offer applies to this vehicle, is not transferable, and can only be redeemed at any authorized Lexus dealership.
I will find out how much labor is for just the dash if anyone is interested.
I tried a chemical experiment one year ago. I introduced a Catalyst to the soft urethane. This primer has the additive.
I have the fix on the Facebook Group Lexus IS F Owners. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...&theater&ifg=1
I'm not sure if it's a 100% fix. But I did spray 3 panels with this primer. Then top coated with SEM's trim black. I used only SEM's trim black on one panel. That panel started to fade again within 4 months.
I don't drive the car much. It's in a dark garage. St. louis does have hot weather. So Far this year it's not come back. I welcome others to try. This fix costs $60 bucks.
Just sharing my experience on my 2008 Lexus IS F 78,000 miles

So you spray 3 coat of Eproxy Primer and then SEM Trim black and it fix the issue? If you don't use the primer, it doesn't fix it? How bad was your dash?
Comes through that SEM's black. That Epoxy primer fills in holes. If you have larger cut marks then you can use a light weight filler then the Epoxy primer.
Top coat with SEM's black. 3 coats of each
Auto Upholstery shops have done this for years.
