I am exploring if it makes sense to purchase and install an RR Racing Cusco RS LSD on my 2010 IS350 Sport. I like this LSD because of its 1.5 way action, I don't track this car but I do take it on Canyon runs, especially when I go to Socal (one of the roads I drive is the same one frequently driven on by The Smoking Tire). Does anyone have experience installing and driving on this LSD, and is it worth it if I don't frequently track my car? I probably drive the twisties twice a year, 3 times at the most

If you enjoy driving spiritedly, adding a LSD (especially a clutch-type like the Cusco) will greatly enhance the car's cornering capabilities and will bring more enjoyment for you even on your daily drives around town. It's a night and day difference between the open differential and a clutch differential setup, especially if you do visit the California canyons.
You can also consider the addition of a LSD as a safety precaution as it helps keep both rear tires planted and stable during inclement weather (which is why I have no concerns driving around in rainstorms with the stability control off).

But ya, the occasional snow here should prove less of challenge when the nannies wish to limit wheel slip and kill the throttle. It's pretty hateful as one can just get the car moving and then loose it all with throttle chop!
Plus it should allow just a bit more predictability when the spirited drives take place. Looking forward to it!

The OSGiken is about the same price as the Cusco LS, except it's on Pre-order. This is probably a project I will plan near the end of the year. Tomorrow is garage remodel day, which is going to cost a pretty penny! Unfortunately for the garage, its my wife's "storage room" with a small section for my son's workout area. If I can only convince her about the merits of installing a BendPack. It's those days you wished you stayed single. Sigh...
