Default Ignition Coil question

Hi team,

Quick question on Ignition Coil on the IS350. I have a 2011 with 315k miles on it. going to do sparks next week, wondering if I should change all the Ignition Coils on the car? Are the ignition coil on the car one of those items that very rarely fails? I don’t want to change them if it’s not necessary to do so. Mechanically, the engine is sound.

If...I do need to change ignition coil, do i need to change the ignition boots also?

Appreciate the guidance guys.

Jay

Replacing a random coil seems futile. So, unless someone can test them for breakdown voltage, I'd say all or none. The 350 is noninvasive in that all the COPs are easily accessible within minutes.

See how far they go unless you're out in the middle of no where and would rather not risk a break down or come home on 5 cylinders... If you do buy new, don't cheap out on a budget COP. Those seemed to have earned their keep.

Thank you brother. I was hoping to push these original coils until the next spark plug change. I’ll chime in after the plug change.

I'm just curious...how many miles do you put on your car a day? I thought my wife drove a lot! Her 2013 Sienna, which is used for all our family trips as well as her daily commute is just hitting the 140K mark and your at 315K (or is that a typo)?? That's like 35K a year!!

I'd go ahead and replace all 6 at the amount of miles you're at.
