Question Best hid headlight bulbs

Hi all,

Just a quick question as I am sure I am not the first to encounter this.

HID bulb in my "08 IS250 burned out a week or so ago. Lexus wanted $400 for new bulbs (I almost choked). I went to the aftermarket and purchased a pair of Morimoto XB 5500k lights on Amazon and had one burn out in a week.

SO my question to y'all is what is the best bang for buck when it comes to these? I found a pair of Osram Cool Blue Intense online for $130 delivered however I am worried about the legitimacy of them as I saw online somewhere that some 80% of brand named HIDs sold online are counterfeit. I really don't care about brand, I just want them to perform decently and last for a decent amount of time. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in Advance!!!

I recently purchased 2x philips D4s bulbs. They are more on the yellow then blue side (I forget the temp). These actually give me further sight at night time.

Default RCP’s

I bought some Xenons? at first and it went out on me like the first month twice. So I tried out some called RCP’s I found on Amazon I think for like no more than $60. Going on 8 months strong! Would recommend the 8k lighting check them out. No ballasts or anything needed

3 years and 50,000 miles ago, Morimoto XB, 5500k, 60 shipped. Obviously one died.
Like you, next up was the OSRAM CBI's for $130 on sale. They've been in a couple weeks now and I have yet to see any Cool Blue for being a higher Kelvin bulb than the Morimoto's.
@Zmon I believe you said you have these? How would you rate the color and did it change over time?
Thanks!

Osram CBI which are still $150 for D4S. But might be worth it to spend a few bucks more for Osram CBB which are newer and brighter.

Do you have these? If so, look up at my previous post. They hardly seem like 6000k two weeks out. Thanks!

Are they supposed to be 6000K? When I bought my set in 2015, the box said "Up to 5000k". Subsequently, I've seen them advertised as "Up to 5500k". Now they are advertising them as 6000k? Wonder if they changed the bulb, or just the box...

By the way, I'm really happy with mine: bright, whiter than the stock Philips bulb that came stock in the car, and still going strong after five years -- but I bought mine at Xenon Depot, not Amazon or eBay, so I know I didn't get counterfeits.

Whatever you do, just buy them from @LightWerkz , as they are official vendors for Osram.

I have the older version that was advertised as 5000k. They started off more on the 4300-4500k side, got to 5000k over time. They're starting to trend a little bluer as they age now, think I've had them for 4-5 years at this point.
