Default Do check engine codes (P0441) clear after fixing the problem?

I recently changed out my spark plugs and had inadvertently disconnected a hose going to the purge valve. This got me a P0441 error.

I've fixed the problem, but will the confirmed code go away after a few cycles? I would rather not reset the computer as I need to get the car smogged.

So I drove the car for 2 cold starts with mixed highway and town, and on the next start the check engine light is off.

However, the OBD reader says that the vehicle is not ready for emissions testing and the confirmed "P0441" code is still there. Anyone know if this will also cycle out, or is this something I have to reset the computer for?

P0441 is a generic powertrain diagnostic trouble code. It may be thrown by any OBD-II equipped vehicle. It indicated that the EVAP control system is not functioning correctly. The EVAP system is an emissions control system intended to prevent fuel vapors from escaping.

Look for small tubes connected to the air filter area. They tend to get disconnected or else cracked due to age (need to replace as needed, they are not expensive).

After checking that your all your connections are tight and connected, clear the code and you have to run the car and wait for readiness. This can be done with an OBD Scanner.
