My 2012 Lexus IS 250 won’t start
Im trying to find someone who might be able to help me with the issue I’m having with my car. I bought my fiancée a 2012 Lexus IS 250 in March 2020, from a dealer. I haven’t had any issues until now. Yesterday afternoon I help my sister jump start her car successfully. I turned off the car to use the restroom and when I got back inside, it wouldn’t start up. It’s a push start car, which requires that you step down on the brake and push the start button to crank it on. However, the car doesn’t turn on when I do this and despite me holdings down The brake pedal, I still get the following message “when starting the engine, depress the brake pedal”. The lights in my dashboard turn on, the lights over my head turn on, however the brake lights don’t turn on, nor does anything else electric works, like the power seats, the windows, the locks. I didn’t think it was the battery because I still have some electricity working, I’ve already had someone give me a jump multiple times and nothing. Any resolution I’ve seen people provide online, because this seems to happen to a lot of other Lexus owners, no one resolution is given. I switched out the brake switch and that didn’t work either. Is there anyone who might know what else I can do? I’m not trying to take it to a dealership if it’s avoidable, since my fiancée lost her job due to Covid-19 and I’m the only one working right now.

Check this fuse out first. Hopefully it is something else.

Hope and pray it’s just a fuse.
let’s this be a valuable lesson. NEVER ever again jump start anyone’s car ever with your car. The electronics in these cars are super sensitive and you can easily fry your main computer buy jump starting another car when your car is on. I hope for your sake you just blew a fuse.
sorry for the potentially bad news
because if this I have thrown out my jumper cables and bought lithium ion boosters. We carry one in each car and each son (drive is250’s) have been threatened within an inch of their life to never ever ever use their car to boost. If they must they HAVE to disconnect the battery from their car before allowing anyone to boost off their battery.
