Default 2009 IS250 Highway Vibration, LCA bushings?

2009 IS250 roughly 134k, owned since 40k.

I've noticed over the past 8 months or so, a vibration at highway speed. It starts around 68mph and goes to around 75mph +/- It's very hard to pinpoint because it doesn't feel like a wheel balance issue where you get a definitive shake that you can pinpoint. Basically, you'll feel a vibration throughout the car and there's somewhat of a humming noise. It does this while driving or coasting; even if the transmission is shifted to neutral. It does this with both my winter and summer tires.

I'm thinking something suspension related. This car has always had the inside front tire wear, so wondering if it's LCA bushings.

Open to thoughts or suggestions!

If it was your LCA, the vibrations would be felt through the steering wheel. If the bushings or the ball joints, it would cause wheel shimmy that is felt in the wheel. Are the vibrations strictly coming from the steering wheel? You may want to check the LCA bushings, if they are dried or cracked, you may want to start there if you are sure your wheels are properly balanced

IME worn parts are seldom the cause of vibrations. The reciprocating items cause the vibes. The worn components simply allow it to grow in magnitude but not always.

If the same wheels are being used for summer winter, I lay odds its bent lip from a pothole. Mind you these wheels will balance just fine but at speed it shows up do to centrifugal force and load. Look at the lips inner and outer while spinning on a tire machine. And who's to say both sets don't have bent lip?

After this, I'd go looking at the drive shaft, but in my past, most drive shaft vibes start in the 40mph and go up with load. So, IMO, I don't its drive shaft issue and it more likely a tire, wheel, or hub mounting those wheels. Because the steering wheel is not shaking, I'll say it's in the rear. Tell us more details about the history of the rear wheels and any repairs back there.

Thanks guys. Did some highway driving yesterday. The vibration will start around 64mph, then go away. It's prominent from 74-77mph. That's where you can hear the drone and 'feel' it through out the car. I can feel it in the drivers seat and slightly from the steering wheel.

The wheels are in OK shape. They are the OEM 17" wheels. They all have some curb rash on them. It's hard to tell by looking at them if any are out of round or tweaked. I can ask the tech to look them over when I swap the snowtires in the next month or so.

I actually had to have my wheels re-balanced 3 times before they stopped shaking. I had ordered Michelin Pilot Sports from Tirerack, they came bundled so tight that they could not even properly balance them. I had to drive them a couple of days to loosen them up, after balancing them the car still shook, I took them back, they were rebalanced and they would start to shake again hitting 70mph, so had to take them in, third time's the charm
