Question Alarm Going Off Randomly - Hood sensor?

Hey everyone,

So a few months ago my alarm started going off in the middle of the day for no reason at all. Wasn't much of a problem, so I left until lately its been doing it often, sometimes in the middle of the night. I noticed it happened a lot more after it rains. I would leave the car unlocked at night, and it would still go off. I was driving around and the car told me the hood was open. It wasn't. I opened and closed it a few times and the warning still didn't go away. Went away the next day. Deduced that the problem is with the hood sensor. I took it apart, took a look at the wire from the harness, sensor switch, and hood latch, and everything looked good, not even rust. I took some sandpaper to the metal shorting the switch, no dice. Sensor didn't seem to be bad. I'd like to avoid buying a new hood latch, this one seems fine. Anyone know where to get just the sensor? It'll probably be a pain to remove it from the latch, but I think its possible. Could I just unplug the sensor and leave it at that? Any other ideas on what it could be? And for now, anyway to stop the alarm from going off? I checked the fuses, none of them are for the alarm, but I may have missed something. Anything would help. Thanks everyone!
