Is he suggesting replacing the springs due to rust? How many miles are on your car? I’m not certain that I’ve ever heard that before. The car uses shocks btw. To cut labor costs, you can always look into coilovers. Tein FlexZ will run around 600.00 or so.

How many miles on this and has been on rough roads all it's life? Axles seldom die until the boots have torn and grease flies out. You might want to get a second opinion. If it's bouncing down the road, likely need new shocks. If over 150k miles, I guess ball joints could be bad. Hard to beat OEM quality but it comes at a cost. The repairs you mention might rival the value of the car if done wrong or they are not necessary. GL PS - you might source a low mileage wreck and consider a parts purchase.
