I've had a handful of different Lexus's but my latest find is a 2012 USB IS350 F-Sport......I bought it sight unseen from a small dealer online and yes it needed work......it has about 138,000 miles and no accidents and decent maintenance records according to the Lexus website using the VIN #......It was shipped to me in July and needed the water pump replaced right away and shocks so I had Megan coilovers installed.....I also did a ton of maintenance items and new front brakes......then off to the body shop for new paint on the front bumper, hood and painted the roof gloss black......as well as have the calipers painted......and just had it "color corrected" today and it turned out gorgeous!

Here is So CA I see tons of 2nd gen IS250's and IS350's and an ISF or 2 floating around........but none are the UltraSonic Blue Mica color......that's why I bought it from an out of state dealer....I only wanted the USB and it had to be a 350 rwd.......is the USB color rare for a 2nd Gen IS?

yeah, that does sound like a douchbag comment......I tried googling it and looked on wiki and just was curious as to the breakdown on how many USB were produced for the 2nd gen IS's......did you find that info in your Google or wiki search?? cuz I didn't see it there......if so, how about a link instead of a snide comment?!

as a side note, I thought forums like this were suppose to be a place where people with common interests help each other and come together as a group......instead someone like you throws out a douchbag comment and it makes me want to delete my profile.......

 

There can't be too many if you look at the production numbers. I have a 2013, so of 369 total cars, a USB has to be pretty limited. Maybe it's traceable by color trim options?

Yeah, that comment was kind of douchie, but don't get discouraged. I know a guy from my previous Honda forum I belonged to who has a Youtube channel and whenever someone makes a negative comment he gets upset. Just gotta have thick skin. We are all here to help each other. Generally I've found clublexus to be very friendly, but occasionally you'll get the not so polite remark.

I am, I suppose you can't mediate or hear tone via text. I wasn't trying to come off crabby. I had found a previous link but it closed up in regards to colours. Apparently the link is "not safe" stupid internet parameters. Nonetheless that information was once available about the USB colour and we all know that the matador red and the USB are more sought after colours. It is an option paint and is lower production numbers as well as that light metallic blue they offered.

Yes it's a rare color. Mostly because there just isn't very much demand for it. Right now, there are 39 IS350 for sale between 10-13 and only 1 is USB. Silver, Black and White, Gray are much more common and are in higher demand. Red, USB not so much.

It's a weird thing... some people like certain colors enough to pay a premium for it, others would never consider owning. I fall into the latter (won't feel comfortable in blue or red color cars). You might find your next buyer BECAUSE it's USB or you might have a harder/slower time selling it for the same reason.

 

yours is one sweet ride and yours is the inspiration for me finding one for myself!....I'm not going do too much more to mine except drive and enjoy it......it's nice to follow your build though........keep up the awesome work!

I don't know the overall number of USB 2IS350s that were made between the 2011-2013MYs but it is a pretty rare color when you account for the overall production of the 2nd Gen IS350s. The USB 2011 IS350 F-Sport made quite the splash in one of Lexus' old promos:
