AWD and RWD swap sides... The shift shaft goes clean though the transmission from one side to the other with seals on both sides. Both are known to leak with age.
OP, if if the gear selected, park or Neutral do not allow you to start the car, BLOCK THE WHEELS, SET THE PARK BRAKE, loosen the slider nut on the long arm to the trans, loosen the two bolts holding the switch and stick a drill bit in the hole (usually in neutral), now tighten the switch, put it back in park. Tighten the shift rod.
Next up - get acquainted with the search function. Every post since getting this car has been answered several times over. Start one thread and keep it there. People will help, its what we do. Maybe not instantly but thats just how it is. Yep....
I'm saying, if you kept this in one post that this car has front end damage and TOLD THE STORY, all of the problems are very much related but few know the whole story as it's spread over so many new posts.. it would be in your favor to keep it as one post. Makes sense?
