Default IS250 RWD Brake Pads & Rotors question

Need some help and advice on brake pads and rotors on my RWD IS250. How do you actually determine how much life is left on the pads? I've postwed two pics below. the first pic is of my rear brake pads side by side a copy of it with me scribbling a red line around the area that I think is the friction material. Is my illustration of what i think is the friction material correct? If so, how much can this actually wear out before brake pads need changing? I know when I go to the dealers they usually tell me a certain percentage of brake pads left. How do you actually measure how much life is left on the pads? Is there some kind of measurement guide from the start of the friction material?

Secondly, in terms of the rotors. My front rotors are 26.2mm and if i'm not mistaken I think brand new rotors are 28mm and the minimum is 25mm. Is this correct? If so what's the lowest I should go before changing the rotors and is there other things to look out for other than thickness wear on the rotors? I've had my rotors for quite a number of years now (probably 4 or 5 years) as I do very low mileage these days.

And finally, I have solid rear rotors (not the vented ones) what is the minimum thickness of this? mine is at 10.1mm at the moment.

Thank you.

Pictures of my pads and the illustration below

Rear pads are fine. Fronts are OK. Depending on magnification (angle makes it difficult), probably 10,000-15,000 miles left on the fronts.

Not sure on the rotor specs, but the best thing I can tell you on when the pads need to be replaced, is just when they look "thin".... basically when the metal backing plate looks awfully close to the rotor. I think the minimum specs are like 2 or 3 mm, so you have plenty of life left on those particular ones!

These are the measurements for RWD IS250

Front rotors: 28mm new, 25mm minimum
Front pads: 12.2mm new, 1mm minimum

Rear rotors: 10mm new, 8.5mm minimum
Rear pads: 10.5mm new, 1mm minimum

idk if it was on purpose or not, but your making an assumption that the outer pads represent the inner pads and that's not always so; if your pins are old rusty and sticking you can have uneven ware, and for other reasons. make sure your looking at the inner pad as well. change your pins at your next brake job and lube your rubber bushings. so many skip this stuff and ***** when they are buying calipers .
