Default Aux power plug under center console?

In wiring up a dashcam, I'd like to use the aux power plug toward the back of the center console next to the 12V lighter plug. What size plug is that? Has anyone found a USB to 'aux power' adapter cable that would work there?

That isn't a power connection. It's a connection for audio to the stereo. Aux-IN

That's actually funny. I guess I never looked that closely at that connection. Time to see how to connect my android phone so I can play audio books...

Update: The Grom systems look nice, but it's too expensive. I'm surprised there's nothing to take a headphone jack output from an android and use it as input for the Lexus stereo. Oh, well, back to cds for audio books.

I’m not sure if I’m missing something but assuming your phone still has a headphone port then all you need is a
3.5 mm aux cable 3.5 mm aux cable
. If your phone does not then you’ll need a usb c to Aux adapter. There’s nothing special about the aux port in the Lexus center console.

This. Also, depending on the year of the car, if it doesn't support A2DP playback over bluetooth, he can just get a BT adapter from Amazon that can plug into your aux port if you want to minimize the amount of cables that you have coming out of the console.

OP, you're better off using the mirror wiring in the headliner and tapping into it. I replaced my mirror with a newer one and didn't have the proper adapter so I tapped into the old wiring and it works fine. I've been meaning to tap into it again to hardwire my dashcam. I don't know which wires you need to tap into it without looking though, especially because they've changed between model years, so you'll have to search this forum for how people are tapping into it.

Thank you! Using a spare audio cable I was able to get audio books to easily play from my android. I do like the idea of using a bluetooth adapter to make it wireless and may try that out.

Tapping into the mirror power for the dashcam sounds good as well. Once it warms up in my area it may be a good time to look into implementing that.
