Difference between 2nd and 3rd gen paddle shifters
Hey guys,
I am having a hell of a time finding red carbon fiber paddle extensions for my 2012 IS250. Plenty of options available for 2013-2021. I am wondering if the paddle shifters actually changed in any way from 2nd to 3rd gen. Anybody know?

3IS and 2IS paddles are different. I don't think you'll find any carbon fiber ones but there are aluminum ones out there. Here's a pic of mine in silver
The paddle shifters from the 3IS will not fit, It's mounting bracket is completely different shape and holes don't match up. See photo below where i've lined up a 3IS paddle shifter to the 2IS steering wheel. I've just recently hydrodipped mine in deep blue carbon. If it's red carbon you are after, it will be much cheaper to just hydrodip existing ones. Any hydrodip shops should be able to do it and it should not cost much at all as they are small trims. You could also carbon skin it with real carbon if you are after real carbon. See some pics below. More pics on my instagram (@salondon)
