Default wood grain panels not matching

Hey, so I just recently just got my 2009 is250, and I love the car. It drives smooth and everything, but I realized that the wood grain panel in the center console and the cup holder cover does not match. I checked the Carfax before buying it and it looks clean with a lot of information, with the car having most of it's maintenance done in the Lexus dealer. Is this a normal thing, or do u guys think that it might've been in an accident and wasn't reported? Thanks

Possible it was broken at some point and replaced. Considering it's real wood and comes from a single plank, it may just be a difference in the wood or even when they applied the lacquer.

Or the other lost its clear coat, wet drink left too long and was replaced.

???? You really think that's wood from an actual tree? Hmmm....

Lexus uses real wood with matching grain all the cuts are marked and catalogued. I can't tell from the pic if the grain pattern matches, but either one piece faded differently or it was replaced. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

My 2012 had the same issue. The cup holder cover had a different tint to it just like your picture. I've seen a few with this and I think it may be from leaving it open all the time thus not fading at the same rate as the console. I ended up covering mine with a brushed vinyl.

This is most likely what happened. I have had my cup holder flipped open for the past 2 years and decided to flip it down and take a look today after my original post quoted above. Darker than the larger part of the console.
