IS250 battery terminals connected in reverse
Today I got a new battery. I connected the (+) of the battery to the (-) of the car and vice versa. When I connected the terminals properly and pressed the on-off engine button everything works normally as it's supposed but when I press the brakes the engine on-off button doesn't turn green and hence the car doesn't start. I'll definitely check all 90 fuses in the 4 fuse boxes tomorrow. But any other advice or suggestions? PLEASE DON'T ASSERT your assumptions to freak me out. I've researched on this topic and am aware of all the probable consequences. I'm looking for some solid advice to resolve the issue myself.

Check the high current fuses first, especially the 150 amp-ish one. Does your car have a fuse bar?

The fuseable link is right next to the battery under a clear cover. Typically the 80A power steering link pops first. This can be seen visually as the Z where it opens burns through.. Plus it looks just like the ATC fuse Z only its a series of them. w different amp ratings.
Do a search for "#2IS Electrical" and/or fuseable link

I would second the fusible link being bad. I did this exact thing roughly 22 years ago when I was new to working on cars on a 1980 Toyota pickup, and the fusible links blew. Easy fix.

That's one of the functions of this fuse. It is well known that a certain amount of people will misassemble battery terminals.
