steering wheel shaking left and right by itself while driving
Hi everyone.
I have a 2012 ISC with 40K miles on it which is having steering wheel shakes. Driving down the road at low speeds, my steering wheel will actually move clock and counterclockwise at a steady pace, When i start accelerating it will reduce the back and forth motion some. I have checked my springs, and suspension and seems the everything is very tight, and there is no play in the suspension. I have replaced my brakes, and rotor with original Lexus parts. The only odd thing I noticed was my left front tire while off the car stands at an angle. Meaning if I put a level on top of the tire I have to raise the outside of the wheel about 1/4" to level it. Meaning there is more tread on the back side of the tire compared to the front. The right front tire sits perfectly flat on the ground when off of the car. I checked the tread depth and there is no noticeable difference in the back of the tire and the front of the tire, Has anyone dealt with this condition on their IS. Any help or suggestions is welcomed. I just don't want to throw money at it and not really get a fix.
Thank You

I would take it to an alignment shop to have the alignment checked

You might have damaged bushings in the front suspension but at 40k that is extreme. How old are the tires and are they factory size on the factory rims?
Also: a tire with a slipped belt can do this.

Thank You for the response. The tires are the correct size, and the rims are the original, The tires are the second set on the car. The video chows the way my left front tire looks. So most likely it might be that. I'm thinking of putting on my spare and see if it stops the back, and forth. The bushings could be at fault, but there is no play at all in the suspension that I can tell.

I'd try the spare... or maybe get them rotated to see if anything changes. Good luck!

Steering wheel shakes are tire balance / bent wheel(s) / bad tires, stuff like that.
Head to the tire store and have them spin up the front wheels while looking for tire / wheel runnout at the rim and edge of tire.
JM2C but if wheels at odd angles while on jack stands means nothing. Verify wheel alignment after getting the above items checked.
