Check Engine and VSC light. Now overheating? 2008 IS250
I am currently on a cross country road trip and of course my car has the first issue I’ve ever had with it. My fiancé was driving my car and my dog hit the shifter while she was on the Interstate, it got put into neutral so the RPMs shot up for a second and then after she got it back into drive the check vsc and check engine light came on. My car also didn’t have the traction so I had little acceleration. When I pulled off and turned my car off it seemed to be doing okay but then I turned it back on and it seemed to have trouble starting and sounded like it was rattling. Lucky for me there was a mechanic so I had them check my car out, they had to come to me cause I had no acceleration at this point but my car would start. They originally thought it was the fuel pump from what the sensor said but after that got fixed and test driven they said it drove fine for a couple minutes but now my car is overheating and the coolant is leaking. WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR!? My car was driving perfectly until this incident happened

Sounds like two separate issues. That just happened as a coincidence. Not sure, but with out any concrete evidence. I'd check for any leaks near the water pump area. Could be a bad water pump at this point.
As for the shifter being knocked into neutral. It should have not impacted the car.
You will see pink crust from coolant near the crank pulleys. Check over every where. New radiator cap. Bleed the coolant properly. GL
VSC will always illuminate with engine light. FYI

What code(s) are you throwing? If you don't have an OBEII scanner, take it to Autozone/Pep Boys. They will do it for free.
Those will help us tons because it's very challenging to diagnose over the internet.
