Hi all,

I've recently came into a problem with my 2010 2is HVAC system. When turning my car on, I am greeted with the blinking front defroster light and my AC resetting to 75. I also noticed my AC mode is stuck on defrost as no air blows from my main vents nor foot vents. Hot and cold both work but again only blowing out of my windshield vent no matter which mode is set.

This problem arose after I had my dash replaced by Lexus under the ZLZ program. I called the dealership about the issue and they took my car back in to inspect if it was something they had done during the replacement. They ended up calling me the next day saying they had no idea what it is even after re-pulling the dash. They found no codes, fuses were good, ect.. and I ended up having to pay a $190 diag fee for essentially going nowhere.

I've done a lot of digging online and found many various threads on other Lexus models "Mode/outlet servo replacement" but am having trouble finding anything for the 2IS. I've come to the conclusion that a bad HVAC Blend Door Actuator P/N 8710630430 may be causing the issue with being stuck in defrost.

I continued diagnosing my car and also found that the blend door that also houses my cabin air filter also seems to be broken (moves freely and does not actuate between recirculation/fresh air). I have yet to take apart the glove box to see if it's the arm itself or the actual motor. I did see many threads online of others sticking a screw into the broken arms to fix, but I am more concerned about the vent modes than recirculation.

Does anyone know if there are any guides online replacing this part for our cars specifically?
