I guess there are really people who never open their hoods, even after years and years of owning their car! Like my wife....

Me: I'm going out to check the oil
My Wife: Where do you check that and where does the oil go?
Me: The engine
My wife: What's that?
Me: That's what drives the car
My wife: Is it in the trunk? I don't see anything in there
Me: Sigh.......

When my wife and I started dating, she had a 5sp coupe. I thought, heck, maybe if she drives a 5sp and a 2-dr car, maybe she likes cars. LOL! Nope. As she puts it, I could care less as how cars work; just make it work and reliably.

Former spouse used to do tune ups on her 67 Camaro 327 c.i. you know, the old days with points, condenser, dizzy cap, carbon plugs all that jazz...

It was mildly entertaining watching her rip all the wires out of the cap and then ask, how do I where to put them back??? Poor V8 reduced to a Yaris...

Thankfully it's only glue from Japan and not some forbidden rodent fluid! lol
That said, it's all over the dang engine bay and I'm Not sure how or why??

It's very rare to find a women who is mechanically inclined. So unless they are completely faking that they have no idea or understanding of mechanical devices, their brains are just wired differently. In my company for example, there are only two female engineers in a team of 20, and it's not for lack of opportunities as our CEO is all about giving equal opportunities to women (he has 4 daughters and one son) and encouraging them to get into higher paid professions. They are just generally not as interested. But I've noticed being married since the ice age and having a daughter that the different wiring compliments and fills the gaps where we are lacking. My wife sees and remembers all the small details I miss. She can multitask like nobody's business. And she has empathy I will never understand
