Default Car horn not working when wheel is centered

Hey ClubLexus,

The car horn does not work when the wheel is centered. The car horn does work when the wheel is turned slightly to the left or the right. The audio control buttons and cruise control works.

Any ideas on what could be the issue? Or is the car horn not working a indication that the spiral cable assembly has to be replaced?

Thanks.

That would be the first thing I would suspect. If you hold the horn button down and shimmy the wheel back and forth what happens? What I think happens?

Nothing happens when the horn button is held down and the wheel is shimmied back and forth.

So the horn will work if the wheel is somewhat turned and then you press the horn button? What if you do that and hold then turn the wheel to center.

Yes, the horn will work if the wheel is somewhat turned and the horn button is pressed. If I hold the horn button and then turn the wheel to the center, the horn stops.

That's somewhat confusing logic (not you, the result of tests) but still points to the spiral cable. The cable is over $300 retail from Lexus there are very likely inexpensive knock offs.
