Exclamation Transmission Question P2757 - '07 IS 250

I've owned my 2007 IS 250 RWD for over 10 years within minimal problems, but it is now acting up and it has been a nightmare to fix. It has a P2757 code that comes and goes and has 205k km/127k miles.

I noticed several months ago that the car would struggle to accelerate from a stop, lose power/shudder in stop and go traffic - especially on cold days, struggle going up hills, and be a little jerky in lower gears when coming to a stop. Recently, it has also stalled on me several times when I am parking in reverse and change to D. I also notice it stays in higher gears 5/6 for a while - not sure if this is normal.

I have taken it to 4 different shops including the dealer and they all told me it drives fine because they would only do a quick 5-10 min test drive. The 4th shop kept the car for a week and drove it everywhere and finally noticed what I was complaining about. They are saying that when the car is in sport mode, it drives fine and told me to keep driving only in sport mode to avoid the issues. Another transmission shop said it would just be a matter of time until it shows up in sports mode. Otherwise, they are saying it could be the SLU solenoid, torque converter clutch, or the whole transmission may be on its way out - charged me nearly $200 to basically tell me nothing. I had a transmission service done by Lexus at around the 144000 km mark - not sure if it was a full flush or just drain and fill.

Have any of you experienced this issue or have any suggestions? Do you think doing a drain and fill as a first step could be helpful or would there be a concern about further impacting the transmission? If so, does a drain and fill + change filter sound like a good idea?

A used transmission is going to cost around $4000 and I don't know if it is worth it considering the age of the car. Would you suggest selling and moving on? I love this car, but want to be smart about next steps as money is tight. Thank you in advance!

I would start by doing this... Although your trans is not an A760, the procedure is the same.

2IS Transmission Fluid-change-A760E RWD

Why would used trans cost $4K?

The transmission shop quoted me $2700 for used transmission + $1100 labour + $150 fluid and shop supplies + tax. They didn't feel it was worth doing for that price either and could not confirm my issue would be resolved.

I will try getting a drain and fill from Toyota/Lexus - can't do this myself as I am injured. Do you know anything about replacing/repairing the ECU or having ECU flash calibration done for this issue?

I'm guessing they did a flush. Bad to do at high mileage.

Get a used late model, low miles used Transmission. About $500 - $800. My friend put one in his years ago, then does drain and fills and the filter. Has never had a problem again still going strong. Ask around for quotes of installing.

Hello, I have Lexus IS 250 from 2006 year with automatic transmission and I have codes P2757 and C1201. I changed the solenoid, oil and filter for the transmission.

Are these codes connected with the ecm and tcm, should I buy knew computer or the problem is with transmission? Has anyone solved this problem?
