Default Trans Line Pressure Detent adjustment (Firmer Shifts) - Turn which way?

Hi, I am about to do the Transmission increased line pressure adjustment mod for firmer shifts. Below are some links. Can someone confirm on the 13 350 Motor Trans exactly which way do you turn the Detent for firmer shifts?

From what I was told ours is on the Passenger side. Do you Turn Clockwise for firmer shifts towards the Green wire? Or do you turn counter clockwise away from the Green wire? Anyone know and/or done this?

If it's in the middle position. Say looking from driver side of trans to passenger side. Where the fill plug would be on the pan. It's a floating valve so you want to rotate the the steepest section. Which if it's in the middle position. You would just turn clock wise. Remember there is s spring behind. So holding the locking tab. Push in lightly with screw driver to to go past the next tab wall, and turn. From what I remember the steepest step will put more pressure. Hence the sections. The deepest section will back out the valve more so less pressure. I hope it makes some sense.

Search on the Tundra forums for the same mod. They have better descriptions, and pictures.

Sorry not Tundra, it's the Landcruiser. It's been years.

Thanks. So what I have been told is that it is actually on the Passenger side of the Trans. Thus standing on the passenger side, you would rotate turn in Clockwise towards Turn right), the front detent (towards front of car)? Which would move the screw detent in deeper correct? Going to do a drain and Filter today and wanted to make sure is why I am asking if some know. Thanks.

I think all of the 3.5 Motors Trans are set at middle by default from the Factory is what I have seen.

Ok thanks, that's to the right or clockwise to get it in. Thanks. Doing today and will let know how it turns out and feels. Heard it good for fuel mileage increase and midrange response too.

It's not really going to net gas mileage. You will feel more down shifts for sure. So be prepared for that you will feel all up shifts, and down.

No one has done it to my knowledge on the ISX50. I'd like to hear how it performs. If I remember correctly on the 2nd GS forums. Someone ran it for years without hiccups.

My friend did it on his 13 GS350 that has mods, he reports better midrange response, slightly firmer shifts down low and mid, and a improvement of mpg. Said not much different at all up top. He was very happy with it.

Here is what he posted but I also talked to him about the mpg more in time.

I adjusted mine a month ago and getting to it was easy. If you use clean containers, you could re-use recently replaced trans fluid. I did notice a nice part throttle snap to shifts, but didn't notice anything at full throttle. It does seem like my mpg improved.....

Yeah that's what I experienced on my Old GS400 minus the gas milage increase. It did feel good for awhile. Then you just get used to it, and start looking for more mods to add. The viscous cycle never ends.

Yep. Are saying saying for a while? As in later you didn't like the Trans shift changes later on?

I like the mod no complaints, but after awhile you really don't feel it. Only you would know the change was made. My passengers never for a second noticed the firmer shifts before, and after.

So I completed the pan drop filter change with new fluid and detent adjustment. Noticed a immediate change and like it. Its more connected on the pedal, kinda like less slippage and more positive engagement with better response. Only driven about 15 miles, so far. Have a feeling it will get feeling even better after the trans ecu, and engine ecu do more remapping.

Kind of late for this, but there is a simple way to get more fluid out per pan drop.
With the pan empty, start the engine and rev it for like 5 seconds and it will throw some of the fluid out of converter. Then drop the filter...

Thanks. My only concern would be would when you then start back after with a Trans pump that would be running dry for a time?

With no load on anything, a few seconds of spin up vs getting another quart and a half of old fluid out, I'll take the fluid Dump. That said, it's not like it's completely dry.
