I pulled off the cold start injector and fished my endoscope into there and saw that carbon buildup is indeed a problem.

My plan is to go through the process demonstrated here:
and manually clean out the intake manifold, butterflies, intake ports, and valves. I searched on here but didn't see anyone who had done this cleaning in a complete way that this owner had. I've seen people talk about chemical cleaning but that doesn't seem to make a big impact.

I'm going to follow the instructions in the video, I like the one scraper he has so I'm going to order that and get a round wire brush. But if there are any other tools or tips that other owners have found helpful that would be great.

I will also look at adding the catch can and also replacing the PCV valve based on suggestions I've seen in other threads to help keep this problem at bay.
