Default HELP! B2799 Code

I’m not new but I haven’t posted in a while and I’m at my wits end. Any help is appreciated.
2006 IS350 180k. All was well until I took it for an oil change and a few hours later the dash lights up and she goes into limp mode. I get it home and over the next few days it runs fine but I’m getting o2 sensor codes. Ok I’ll park and get them done. Then there’s battery light comes on and turns out I’m overcharging the battery. Ok, switch gears and change alternators. Two alternators and they both overcharge. The second one was intermittent but still unstable so I get a third, this one OEM. Now the car won’t start at all. I’m getting the B2799 code and my Toyota mechanic is saying I need a immobilizer box to the tune of 1k. Why? How?
Yes the anti theft light is blinking
Yes the fob locks/unlocks and turns the start button green.
What an I missing? A ground somewhere?

Thanks for this. I actually sent a screenshot of that to my mechanic and he told me I’d have to get the car to the Toyota dealer for that. Is there another way to access that software?

Most likely You can get your own cable, and get the light version of Techstream to a laptop. Though it's still a hefty price. I would steer clear of the Chinese knock offs you find online. Search Techstream online for information.
