Default buying used is250/is350

looking to buy a used is250/is350. would like to spend around 7-9k on a car with less than 180,000km. The second generation is from 06-13 I think. Is there a specific model year I should be looking at? Have they made any changes along the years that are notable? Also, which options should I look out for. I live near Toronto so would it be necessary to get the AWD or would RWD with winters be fine? Any advice on my first car purchase would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

There were some awesome/cheap low-KM IS350s in Toronto recently but looks like they sold. You'll have to create an alert on Kijiji and drive a few & circle back with the specific postings.

Don't buy an IS250 unless its perfect. Read about engine carbon deposits.

ES350 more affordable. Probably better engine. See examples: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/...seats/m2345876

A small bit of advice, look for cars without navigation if you think you'll want to upgrade some time in the future. You'll probably pay less AND give yourself more options if you ever want to upgrade the stereo in the car.

i agree to get a 350 instead of a 250 due to carbon deposits as mentioned (direct injection in 250 vs port+direct injection in the 350). i think a RWD vehicle with the right tires will be fine, but only you can determine if you're capable to pilot such a car. newer will always be better so grab the newest model year and lowest mile (in your case km) example that meets your budget with a known service history and good condition - preaching to the choir i know!
