Hey guys, seen some old threads on this but videos no longer come up so unsure if it is same problem as mine.
Got a rapid rattling noise about 5 days ago on a really cold morning & every time I start the car now, same rattling noise happens, lasts about maybe 5 seconds.
Even if I kill the engine immediately as it starts it continues with the engine off for maybe 5 seconds.
It comes from the CD Player area? Maybe closer to glove box?Unsure.

Sounds like the disc drive mechanism is sticking on the head unit.
Are you able to insert a disc, and eject?
I'd say if any of the lubricant has gotten dry over the years. Im assuming it has some sort of grease like the AC servos.

I don’t even own any CD’s Haha, but I’m sure a friend has some blank ones or ones they don’t need that I can use and test out. Thanks @MikeFig82 always appreciate your insights!
This morning, it didn’t even do the rattling upon start up. So will check out disc port this weekend and keep an eye on it.
@MikeFig82 Shop inspected the CD player and said it was jammed. They recommended replacing the head unit. I finally got a CD to try on my own & it kind of got stuck... it would come out about half way & go back in right away, so I just had to grab it quickly before it was dragged back in. Is the ticking upon start up, the CD mechanisms and its just now gotten old and stuck? Should I attempt to remove head unit & clean up the disc drive mechanism & apply more of that grease AC Servos you mentioned?

Not sure on the difficulty of this. I haven't messed with cd players for quite some time.
Though in my quest to find some seat rail grease. I came across this stuff. It seems to be for plastic on plastic, plastic to metal. I wouldn't recommend white lithium. It's probably will be too runny, and high odor. Not sure how much odor on the PG-75.
