I need advice. I'm looking at getting a set of Borbet DB8GT wheels for my 2nd gen RWD IS250. They are coming in following sizes for 5/114.3 bolt pattern:
18x8.5 ET20
18x8.5 ET40
18x9.5 ET30
I would like to go for staggered setup so I'm planning on getting 18x9.5 ET30 for rear axle (30 seems like perfect offset for 9.5). However now I'm in dilemma what to go for in front. The ET20 with 225 tires seems like it's kinda pushing it. In my country you can't pass annual technical inspection if there is any rubbing when wheels are fully turned. On other hand ET40 seems like it might not look flushed, especially compared to the rear axle. I would like to avoid running spacers, but I'll do it if I have to.
Here's the pics off wheels on black IS250 from their FB page, it says the owner is running 20 in front:
I like the wheels and think they will look even better on smoky granite paint. So I would appreciate very much if someone could confirm that 18x8.5 ET20 on 225/40 tires will work in front without any rubbing. Thanks.
Hey, sorry nope. Aforementioned wheels were perpetually out of stock, so I got tired of waiting and got myself some used ones (Rial Daytona Race). They are 18x8.5 ET40 though, so I can confirm that these fit no problem (no surprise here). They do not look flush though...
However I found more images of car above. Here's the site: https://be-low.de/2020/07/12/lexus-is-250/
He's running 215/40 in front. That's Germany, their regulations are pretty ****, so I think 215's on ET20 probably fit without any rubbing...
