I am literally having a heart attack reading the people using bars sealant and other brands to seal the head. for the love of god do not ever use anything like that. not even for your ac lines. being a tech for the past 11 years i have seen the result of using such treatments. do a proper fix

So, how did the engine swap go? did it fix your overheating issue?

Yeah, that car only lasted up until May 20, when I lost control up Los Angeles Crest Highway. The engine and I are kinda the only things that didn't get damaged.

I've been really enjoying my new Is350though, even if it's also got some pretty hefty issues of its own.

I'm having a different type of leak. I was going through about a liter of oil every week because my consumption was that bad. Recently it's calmed down, and I don't have to fill it as often, but I know I have a leak of some kind coming from cyl#5. I'm thinking it's a valve cover gasket and nothing super serious. So hopefully I can get that taken care of this weekend. Otherwise, I've still got the engine swapped is350 chassis so I can throw that engine in the new one if I need to. Along with that, I'm having issues adjusting to driving with stretched tires (235/35/19 on 19x9.5+22) as I keep debeading on one wheel. I've tried 40PSI, and 45PSI, and earlier today I filled it to 49PSI... It's been cold as heck outside lately, so I'm thinking that's why it keeps coming off the lip, but we'll see how it goes in the next coming days. Gonna start driving less often so I can really dial in all my maintenance and keep this car as long as possible.
