Default Repairs Needed on a 09 IS; CV boots and axles

Just went to the Lexus dealer in Silver Spring, MD and they quoted me on the following repairs for a 2009 is250 AWD with 117k miles on it.

Tires $650
4 Wheel Alignment $167
CV Boots $808 This was mentioned to me at 88k
RR Axle Shaft 1678
Drive Axle 1651
Total $4756

Thoughts? Please help! Is it worth getting these services done. Work is a 15 mile commute each day. How do i ask for estimates from other places? Which services are critical and need to be done?

Tires are tires. We all pay to keep each other safe so that seems like a given.
If the boots are town (which end), the joint will fail. Most often, the steering joints like those found up front are the first to go.

Given your rust belt location and the fact that your front axles have been known to rust in place, DIY at home may not be the best option. You know any friends that work on cars?

Perhaps look to social media for a reputable mechanic who is willing to use aftermarket components (look up cost at www.rockauto.com) and see if you can get the cost down.

Once the suspension has been apart, it is always wise to verify the alignment so it doesn't eat your new tires.

Perhaps post the quote???
