That's standard as my IS250 shows the same around 1-2 ticks to left of center. So it seems the thermostat was the culprit? How fast does it reach that level now?
No, in the above picture, that is where my needle resides 100% of the time AFTER reaching normal operating temp.

As mentioned before if 6:00 o'clock is straight down, its always at 630 645. Just as in your last picture or this one. Even though at the time it was taken, it was 36° F outside.
That's what D is saying, this is normal. It sits here 100% of the time, never straight down.
