2010 IS 250 Shaking When Revved Up In Red Zone RPM
Hello,
AFIK 2nd gen IS engine design is flawed and can build up carbon easier than newer ones. I read some time ago that revving it up hard for a few seconds can burn up the carbon and kind of remedy the problem. I have done it a few times in the last 1-2 months.
However, once I get in the red zone RPMs like 7k+ the car starts shaking. I know that’s why it is red and it is a bit of an extreme but is that expected or should I be worried that this is an early sign that something might wrong with my engine?

Are you driving it or parked? It sounds like the later but I wish to confirm.

Static revs to redline will not help remove carbon and could damage the engine. I would not advise this at all!!! Pulling RPM while traveling up a long steep hill under load while keeping the RPM above 5k is far more helpful. If the engine is DI only, 250/300, port cleaning if needed requires mechanical assistance like wallnut blasting.
Again, static revs do little for carbon removal as there is no load and the fuel trims are whacky, as is the ignition advance. It really serves no purpose other than stressing the mechanical limits of the reciprocating components.

Something akin to selecting to low of gear when downshifting. The electronics limit fuel and ignition. The mass of the car can easily exceed the engines rev limit.

The car is shaking probably due to carbon build up.
Follow the instructions to really see if you get any Cel lights to pop up.
Instructions are around mid page:

I'm with s3v3n on this. Shaking when revving to red line with the car in neutral or park is probably just the engine bouncing off the rev limiter. I also agree with him that doing so is a bad idea.
