Hello! I ended up purchasing one of the Android head units that are all over the place on this forum, and I think I have things working fairly well, with the exception of the existing OEM reverse camera. I believe the CANBUS module is controlling it correctly, as when I shift into reverse, the screen changes, anticipating the camera.
The wiring harness has some options that MIGHT be what I'm looking for (trying to decipher Chinese, etc) but I think if I knew which wire from the head unit harness fed into the OEM camera, it'd be much easier to troubleshoot. So for starters, if anyone knows what that looks like, by chance, that could end this post right now!
Assuming nobody knows what that wire looks like, I did have one wire that fit into the original head unit, but no longer has a place to plug into on my new head unit, and I fear it might be the camera. I took a picture of the rear panel of the original head unit in hopes that someone can tell me what wire goes in the spot I have circled. Any ideas? Anyone know what goes in the spot I have circled in red?
Thanks in advance, everyone!
Side note: I have taken note of the amazing skills of verly6565 here, and gone through his posts quite a bit, in case someone was just going to link me to those. However, I believe it may not be QUITE the same thing, as he's working on the Phoenix branded head units, and mine doesn't appear to be quite the same.
THANK YOU!!! That's fantastic news.
I'm not assuming that the camera is already plugged in, then, simply because I don't know what that wire looks like, but there's at least hope that it's a head unit software configuration issue, and not a wiring issue.
