So long story short I've thrown two sets of screens into my 2006 lexus is350 X package and now after a total of 3 years both sets of screens have died. (still works currently but is ugly as heck and plastic layer is peeling off so only a matter of time before total failure)

I scored a 2012 gen6 entire radio (navigation top, ac controls, cd player with wires) for stupidly cheap. I plan to scavenge parts out of it and sell the rest I don't use to someone that needs parts but before I do that...

Does anyone know what goes into swapping a gen 6 headunit into a Gen 5? I know they're split 06-09 and then 2010-2013/14 or so and the wiring harness is different (accounting for the hard drive instead of cd?)

I remember seeing posts about people doing it a few years back but I cannot find any information regarding it at this time so here I am!
