Default Replacing TPMS Sensors

I have a 2007 IS that I am going to replace the TPMS sensors in. Anyone have experience with Factory units versus aftermarket? I found Denso on Amazon for about $28.00 versus $95 from dealer or $73 from Lexusparts. Saw a youtube video yesterday that strongly recommended the factory ones.

Thanks for your help!

You do not need to purchase them from the dealer, just get the DENSO 5500103 OE Manufactured. I bought them from rockauto, they are around $35 ea.

I personally stay away from amazon for OE stuff because I'm concerned about china made knockoffs.

I recently purchased a set off Amazon (metal housing, not plastic...$80) that were pre-programmed to the make/model. No issues!

Do these need to be paired up with the car?

Yes they'll have to be programed. Any Discount Tire should be able to program them for you.

I would recommend going with RockAuto as well, spending a little more to get OEM is worth it. I have a set of knockoff OEM-replica ones from eBay (same stuff that's on Amazon) and they worked great for the last 3 years but now one of them broke off inside the tire. Having to replace even just one in 3 years instead of the avg battery lifespan of ~ 7 years already makes it not worth it on cheaping out.

^This is the reason I highly recommend going with the metal housed sensors...if going aftermarket.

I replaced the 4 TPMS sensors bought from Aliexpress for only 52 $
+ 13 $ for programming. works perfectly and already completed 2 years with no issues.
