IS 250 Strange Rattle When Accelerating over 5000 rpm (with video)

Hi all,

After some advice. Recently purchased an IS 250 2012 with 100k miles. It has a FSH from Lexus and drives great. My only concern is a strange high-pitched buzzing that happens when going over 5000 rpm? I have added a video.

Any ideas? Should I be concerned?

Check the heat shields around the engine, catalytic converters & exhaust system.

^^ agree w above, and starting there. Can you absolutely say it is not in the cabin? Is there vibration when this happens?

Will it do it multiple gears?

Hi,

It sounds like it's under the gearbox. There are no vibrations. It is definitely more audible with the windows down. I will check if it occurs in other gears.
