Car turns off randomly

Car turns off randomly
My 2008 Lexus is250 has been having weird cold start’s recently, and this morning as I cold started the car, I got a big whiff of gas, and after about a minute or two the car turned off by itself, and it wasn’t able to start again. No check engine light, just the vsc light turned on. Anyone know why?
