Default 2008 lexus non-ML stock subwoofer direction

Can someone tell me if the woofer cone faces upwards or downwards?

if possible could you even take a picture of it to prove the cone faces either up towards the sky or down towards the ground, installed from the factory?

Asking for a 2008 lexus is250 sedan with base sound system (non mark Levinson)

thank you.

There is no drop in replacement sub available. The IS is not a big enough seller right now for audio companies to be making a specialized sub to fit it (unlike for a Honda Civic or Ford Mustang). Only a custom installation job could work. A "normal" 8" sub could be mounted from above the metal rear deck and let the magnet go through the hole into the trunk. But you would have to cut the trunk carpet around the hole to let the magnet fit. You would also have to make a custom mounting ring to mount the subwoofer to because the rear deck the factory sub is mounted to is illregularly shaped. A sub like the Image Dynamics ID8 V.3 D4 might work well. However the factory amp only supplies about 25 watts. This is not enough power for most aftermarket subs.
The biggest problem with the 2IS system is the factory amp cuts the sounds going to the subwoofer to 30 Hz to 80 Hz. That means the super deep bass is cut out under 30 Hz. This is to keep the factory sub from distorting or being damaged when being played loud. There is no way around the problem except for replacing the entire factory system with an aftermarket CD tuner and amplifiers. So you could change out the sub and add a bigger amp and you will still not be able to play bass any lower (in frequency) than the factory sub.
I would stay away from MB Quart. A few years ago they almost went bankrupt. Then they were bought by Rockford Fosgate. Then about two years ago they were sold to a company called Maxxsonics. Maxxsonics specializes in entry level ecomony brand audio equipment like Crunch and Hifonics. I would be weary of their quality now.

Mark Levinson OEM sub shown below (part 86160-0WD80 - 2006-2009 IS250, 350, IS-F open air subwoofer ) Believe non-Mark Levinson sub is installed the same way.
