2021 is350 transmission
Hello All, I have a question about the IS350 transmission, My 2021 IS has about 10k miles, and I have been noticing that sometimes when driving, the transmission feels like its stuck or maybe holding onto gears longer than normal. When I take my foot off the accelerator and press the accelerator to advance, it seems to come out of that gear. This has been an issue every since I got the car. It does not happen all the time but I was wondering if this is normal.

Definitely does not sound normal the way you are describing it. Make sure you are in Normal mode, Sport mode tends to hold the gears longer. If you have already tried that then take it to a dealer since these cars are covered still under warranty.

I have a 2022 IS300 AWD, so same engine, possibly same transmission if your IS350 is AWD. Anyway, I notice even in Comfort/Mid mode (not sport but not eco) it will hold a gear or not upshift in particular and repeatable situations. Especially if going down a hill that I had to even for a millisecond press the brake pedal. Sometimes going up a REALLY steep and slow hill it will hold a lower gear too. But nothing seems broken or bad, just different that my other cars.

drives cars
If it's only while the car is cold, that may just be the transmission behaving as designed. Sometimes it'll do a little rev flare between shifts to smooth them out. This is known behavior on the AA80E/AA81E since it was introduced on the LS 460. Since you're in Flordia, your car is rear-wheel-drive, right?
If not, not sure what to tell you - definitely does not seem normal. Have you asked a Lexus dealership to look at this yet?
