Default Noise when turning during parking

Hello,

I just got a new 2023 IS 350 Fsport. I noticed that during parking, there is a noise (not a loud noise, but sounds like maybe tires are rubbing against something) and vibration in the steering wheel when turning the steering wheel all the way to one direction. Given it is brand new (only about 200 miles) and has been driven very carefully on good roads, I was just wondering if this is something that is expected or if I should get it diagnosed. The tires are stock 19" Bridgestone Turanza EL450 and inflated at the correct level.

I had the same noise on my 2021 IS 350 FSport until I switched tires to the Continental DWS tires. The Bridgestones make some interesting noises when going slowly and turning the steering wheel.

Yep the summer Bridgestones have a very “scrubby” sound to me. But I do like that they’re very communicative in terms of road feel, you can really feel them working.

This is true. I think the "feel" is actually better than the Michelin PS4S, but absolute grip and response? Not so much.

That would explain why I stopped hearing the weird noises when parking after a while - I switched to the Michelins (on my prior IS 350... the IS 500 still has the stockies).

Is this IS AWD? Sometimes these AWD systems will cause the tires to 'bind' slightly in very tight turns. I don't hear this myself on my own '21 IS but did experience this on my prior S4 which had a similar AWD setup. Seems like a common occurrence, and varies depending on tires, tire wear, and driving surface from what I've experienced.

I bought a new 2022 IS350-F and noticed some clunky sounds coming from the front-end while parking (usually backing out w/wheels at limit). I first reached out to the salesman who drives the same car and he said "they all do this" (of course). During the initial service I told the tech to check the front end and he said it was fine. The car handles like it's on rails and the ride is perfect so I'm not concerned BUT I will say I'm perplexed this happening on a new car is considered 'normal'. I have stock Bridgestone's (Fronts 235/40R19 Bridgestone Potenza S001L S/R 92Y/ Fronts 235/40R19 Bridgestone Potenza S001L S/R 92Y).

Yes, this is AWD with the Bridgestone Turanza EL450 all-season tires (not run flat). The Lexus service advisor said that this sound is normal.

I have a 2022 AWD Fsport and noticed the same thing. Full turn, low speed, less than idle speed, driveway conditions. Have the stock Bridgestones 19s on it. Only time it ever makes that noice and has a near grinding feel. It sounds like tire, but I agree with the other poster, its probably a result of the front drive/steering. Seems to have no functional or performance issue.
Happy to hear its not just mine. DJ
