Default Very bad issue with damaged threads!

Hello everyone thank you for your time I was installing some figs LCA bushings tonight and the 17 mm bolt when it came out has metal threads on it. I tried to put it in by hand and that did not work it was damaged bad what should I do rethread?

That’s what I would do. Carefully try to hit the original threading, so you’re recutting on the original path, just cleaning up the grooves.
