Default "Mod" for 3IS Interiors

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share a simple, cheap "mod" to spruce up the interior of any 3IS. The standard shift **** on the 3IS (atleast the 2021+ IS) is just perforated leather with no stitching. But then I discovered that Lexus produced a version of our shift ***** with perforated leather and colored stitching for the 2020 GS. And as such the search began.

Part Number:
  • If you have a circuit red or rioja red interior, the part number is 33504-30570-C1 since it has red stitching.
  • If you have a white or black interior, the part number is 33504-30570-C0 since it has white stitching.
  • The US Lexus parts website shows this part as available to order. However, (and I can only comment on the red stitching variant) there are none in the US at any dealer or distribution center. I ended up having to order it from Japan through eBay which was $40 cheaper and it arrived in literally 3 days from when I ordered. The red stitching was only offered on 200 units in the US, whereas the white stitching was offered on every other 2020 GS so you might have more luck sourcing it in the US.
Installation:
  1. Pull down the shift boot from the collar of the **** until it unclips.
  2. Twist the existing **** off
  3. Twist the new **** on
  4. Clip the shift boot into place

Thank you for suggestions and information!

I did little research and my ‚go to’ dealership is selling it for 109$ (they usually have the lowest prices in area).
Ebay has same part for 70$ so the choice is obvious

Nice! I’d love to see the white once you have it installed! I’m not sure how or why, but it seems to be cheaper from Japan, and you may also run into the issue where the US dealer may not actually be able to order it. I called multiple dealers and all of them told me they couldn’t get it, and Lexus of Mobile specifically told me to not bother submitting the order because the order would sit for months until they’d eventually refund me the money because it was never fulfilled

Just to clarify, the part is listed on eBay. There should be no issues ordering it as parts listed on eBay are required to be "in-stock" and shippable for it to be listable... otherwise violating seller TOA. Also, eBay has a rating system. Sellers do not want to receive negative feedback, so orders are not likely to just sit without being fulfilled. What Lexus of Mobile is referencing is specifically in-house supply issues. This will differ from that eBay listing since the part is being sold by a 3rd party who has the inventory. Lexus of Mobile would be placing an order through Toyota Direct and if Toyota does not have the part in stock, there would be a back order while it's being manufactured.

Yes I’m aware. But you posted a screenshot from your dealer and from eBay. eBay will definitely work and it’s how’s I ended up ordering mine. But the one for your dealer may not work even if you actually place the order. If there is no inventory in the country (which there isn’t for the red stitching) they can’t fulfill your order. It shows up as back ordered with no ETA, so it’s why they warned me there was a very high chance it’d never get fulfilled.

Thanks for the research, TipsyTonio. I didn't know Lexus had different versions of shift ***** with the various color stitchings.

I have a 2018 IS, but I changed out my shift **** with an aftermarket one from ShiftIn (I think?) that seemed to be a very close match to OEM and it has carbon fiber instead of the silver on top. Looks good to me at least, fit perfect, and was for $40 shipped from either Amazon or eBay.

Ooh, I love this. I might have to pick up one with the white stitching.

In case anyone was curious, here's a link to the aftermarket shifter I bought from Amazon:
Amazon Amazon

Guess it doesn't have stitching on the sides of the shifter but looks like OEM, without any crazy designs. I have a black interior so it works lol.
