Default 2023 Lexus IS350 rear tweeter install

I am not sure if 2021+ is350 owners with the base audio system notice, but I have noticed that the soundstage is more up front since that is where all the tweeters are. No matter if I turn off or on the surround effect on the screen, or if I shift the sound more to the back, it just doesn't sound centered.
So I took on the project of adding tweeters to the rear doors. I like oem-like finish and look and something that can be reversed.

I ordered pioneer tweeters since our base audio system on non-ml equipped vehicles are from pioneer as well, trying to keep it all same brand.

Also ordered the door handle assembly for both sides for ML-equipped cars since they come with the holes already there for their own tweeters. I will just have to adjust the bracket that came with my pioneer tweeters so they can seat on those new pieces.

What i have done so far is i bought 2 oem rear speaker connectors from a toyota camry, cause it is the same as our rear speaker connectors, and i bought the metra harness. Did this so I can create a "T" connection. I will absolutely not splice or cut into anything on my car.

I insulated the cables with some foam so there isn't any rattles anywhere when installed. Waiting on the door handles to come in and proceed with the project.

Here is what I have so far. I hope this project works and brings back that true surround sound.

The part numbers for the door handles with the hole provisions for the tweeters are :

6927053120C0
6928053120C0

Metra 72-8104 harness kit

The speaker connectors i do not know the part numbers but they are 2 wire connectors found on most 2006 up toyotas. Junkyard works best to cut them off of.

What most important is not just the same brand, but the same Tweeter composite, being all the same if Fabric, Metal, or Ceramic.

Hey, definitely looking to do this. Would you have a few close-up pics of the Toyota plugs? Trying to make sure I get the right ones. Interested in seeing the final results on your set up too

I just finished upgrade my rear left and right passenger door with ML OEM Tweeter. I just source the wire harness and Tweeter then plug and play

Just ordered the Tweeter door handle, can't wait to see and hear this. Hope it will make a big difference. I agree it was lacking the tweeter in the back. Looks like they had it figured out with the ml system.

I took the OEM route, which consist of

2 - OEM ML Tweeter (source eBay)
2 - Left/Right rear OEM door wire harness from a ML IS350 (source eBay)
2 - left/Right rear OEM door handle with ML Tweeter ( source eBay )
