2023 Lexus IS350 rear tweeter install
I am not sure if 2021+ is350 owners with the base audio system notice, but I have noticed that the soundstage is more up front since that is where all the tweeters are. No matter if I turn off or on the surround effect on the screen, or if I shift the sound more to the back, it just doesn't sound centered.
So I took on the project of adding tweeters to the rear doors. I like oem-like finish and look and something that can be reversed.
I ordered pioneer tweeters since our base audio system on non-ml equipped vehicles are from pioneer as well, trying to keep it all same brand.
Also ordered the door handle assembly for both sides for ML-equipped cars since they come with the holes already there for their own tweeters. I will just have to adjust the bracket that came with my pioneer tweeters so they can seat on those new pieces.
What i have done so far is i bought 2 oem rear speaker connectors from a toyota camry, cause it is the same as our rear speaker connectors, and i bought the metra harness. Did this so I can create a "T" connection. I will absolutely not splice or cut into anything on my car.
I insulated the cables with some foam so there isn't any rattles anywhere when installed. Waiting on the door handles to come in and proceed with the project.
Here is what I have so far. I hope this project works and brings back that true surround sound.

The part numbers for the door handles with the hole provisions for the tweeters are :
6927053120C0
6928053120C0
Metra 72-8104 harness kit
The speaker connectors i do not know the part numbers but they are 2 wire connectors found on most 2006 up toyotas. Junkyard works best to cut them off of.
