I am a current ES owner by the consensus on that board is that for 2025 the ES will be a new generation without(!) a V-6. Any speculation on the future of the V-6 for the IS in 2025?

The trend is to rid the V6 from most Lexus/Toyota models. I would expect the same to happen to the ES and IS. The ES may grow in size to fill the GS/LS sector, and likely become all hybrid. The next IS is to be all electric. I'd give it 12 months more to see what happens to each model, but that is what most analysts are forecasting.

I'm surprised the lack of rumors floating for the next model type. I assume any type of upgrade made to the IS will be of a electric variant. Which makes my decision kind of easy for purchasing as I'd like to stick with ICE, and any major upgrade won't be with ICE. So, 2024 will be the year for me.

Are they going full electric, or plug in hybdrid / hybrid?

I believe they ll learn their lesson if they go full EV. People that travel or like to travel longer distances can t be bothered with an full EV.

Can't see them going full EV. Hybrid seems to be settling in now among the masses as the "intermediate" solution, and Toyota/Lexus have built up their reputation quite nicely in this space. So I expect they'll start transitioning many of the models to Hybrid.
Also, they aren't have good success with electric variant of the RX - RZ I think its called.

bummer! big reason (among a few others) why I dumped my Acura, they started doing 4 cylinder turbocharged on a lot of their specs unless you pony up like $65k+ for the type S TLX. I looked at the V6 TLX but when I drove the 21 IS350 F sport I was instantly in love. Wonder if the 24 IS500 will be the last true v8 ICE of our generation?

From Toyota and Lexus, probably so. Alas.
There are still a few other options out there. On the low end, there are the many remaining 2023 Chargers, Challengers and Chrysler 300's still on dealer lots. On the high end, there's the Cadillac CT5 Blackwing and a few remaining German offerings. But, if you want both attainable and reliable? Yeah.
