Default What did you do to your IS today?

I have seen this type of thread and even created one on the Rav4 board. Its just a positive place to share work being done. Show respect. If its not your thing...just move on. This is to show what people have done that doesn't really warrant a build thread. Remember another persons "crap" is another persons "treasure".

Ill go with my basic stuff over the weekend. I pulled my AWD off and swapped the chrome badges to black gloss. Small change for sure but I really like the outcome. And with all the doggone rain lately its impossible to keep the car clean.

I purchased my 2014 IS350 RWD 3 weeks ago with 60k miles, so I'm determined to do all of the 60k mileage service myself. Doing the maintenance isn't a problem, but finding time to get it done is. It looks like I'm going to be taking care of that maintenance interval in stages. So far, I've replaced the Smart Key batteries in both key fobs, as well as the engine air filter and cabin filter. 2 days ago I did a quick touch-up cleaning for the interior, and last night I replaced the PCV valve. Before this weekend is over, I plan on replacing the spark plugs, cleaning the throttle body and MAF sensor, and changing the oil. Next week I want to change the brake fluid, wash the car if the weather holds up, and I have RC F LCA bushings waiting to be installed.

I wish to do this at some point. My old 2013 Fusion had a subtle interior kit for footwells, handles that I want to replicate.

Your rear footwell, under the fronts seats; is that factory spot or did you add that? Only the front on my 21 lights up.

I used V-leds footwell leds kit two up front and two under seats, the way I connect to have the light on as 100% bright when car in park or door open and light output will drop to 60% brightness when car in R or D drive mode, I try to keep the footwell lights function like factory setup and the ambient lights can change color by using mobile app

I am going to tackle trying to clean the seat stitching to get it from dingy gray to a more white looking color.

Do you have a specific chemical you're using? I'd be interested in how that turns out...maybe post before and after pics along with the cleaner you use.

Just got my 21 IS350 beginning of the month. I got the tint installed last week and purchased a wireless Android Auto dongle. This week I've Installed Lexus IS all weather floor mats and trunk liner. installed door lights, led bulbs in the vanity lights, footwells, and trunk. I swapped out the shifter with a carbon fiber one and put carbon fiber vinyl on the drive mode selector that match the shifter. Also put gloss black vinyl on the ceramic ***** for the ML system. I like the piano black matching the rest of the interior and the 2 tone look they have now. Before I felt the ceramic ***** were just standing out separate from the brushed aluminum trim and didn't like it. Installed a screen protector on the 10" screen and ordered a windshield sun cover from Covercraft. Also grabbed some Fsport seat belt covers too.

I just purchased ghost vinyls for the front and rear "Lexus" logo but gotta wait for the weather to improve before installing those. Been cold and raining all week. I think that's it lol

I'd like to hear what you think about the Android Auto dongle after you've set it up and used it for a bit...

When I got my Lexus floor mats, my local Lexus dealer said the cargo mat was discontinued, so I couldn't order that one...

Carlink Wireless carplay and Android auto dongle
I like it so far.. It was easy to pair, it pairs to bluetooth and wifi from your phone. I have it plugged in with a 6" usb c cable to the center armrest and it just lives in there. It takes about 20 sec to fully boot and auto connect once the usb port gets power. Id say its worth it. Since you are using the dongle, you can plug it into whatever usb port you want instead of being limited to the bottom usb like some models.

Trunk mat for 2021 is350. you can search for your year.
I ordered the floor mats and trunk mat from here. There are always a few dealerships that do direct parts sales so it makes it convenient to order OEM parts. When I rebuilt the front suspension on my Tacoma I replaced LCA, Inner/outer tie rods, all the alignment parts, and all the nuts, bolts, cotter pins, and washers with all oem. I found a parts dealership and spoke with the service tech and he built me a list of everything that I needed other than my coilovers and UCA. That rebuild helped me get more for my 2010 TRD sport as a trade in to get my IS350. Win!!
