Default Potential Turbo Issues High Mileage 2016 IS 200t F Sport

I have a 2016 IS 200t F Sport that has 88k miles on turbo. Would like input from owners who have high mileage IS with turbo to determine what potential issues
are common after 100k miles. Thanks .

What issues are you experiencing?

None currently. I'm curious if I should be able aware of anything regarding the turbo to pay particular attention to maintenance wise as the miles
driven exceed 100k.

I had a 2013 domestic car that had a turbo; bought brand new. I got rid of it at 130k and 11 years later. No issues with turbo. I also changed the oil religiously as that's the life blood of a turbo.

I don't think the IS 300 (turbo) existed back in 2013. OP is talking about that car.

Right...maint to extend life of a turbo. Maybe I misread the turbo as a generic as in the cars "name" versus the specific part. Apologies.

You're fine - not all turbos are created equally, especially when one's aftermarket versus being fitted as OE on a car.

FWIW I don't think I have heard of anyone with a 200t/300 RWD blowing a turbo, but there have been some boost issues on earlier models. Those have probably been sorted out on most cars by now.

That is correct. Read this thread, I posted about it in there. There was a TSB put out to fix that issue. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...liability.html

I'm at 118,000 miles, no issues with turbo or any other extraordinary maintenance requirements. Just regular oil changes and other maintenance items are required.

Been running tuned the last 3 years, no issues other than the vacuum regulator valve going out a couple years back, I just ended up replacing it myself and relocating it to an easier to reach spot should it fail again. That's not even the turbo itself.

Thank you for responding. I'm at the point in owning this car where I have about 4k equity and I'm debating if I'm going to keep it another 3 years until loan is paid off or
buy a GS F Sport. How often do you change your oil? I've been going by manufacturer recommended 10k between changes.

I did an oil analysis one time at about 7,500 miles on the oil with Mobil-1 Extended Performance 0W-20. They told me it looked fine and I could do 10,000 miles no issues. With that being said, I personally don't go past 7k miles or so. I like to go over 5k miles, but not more than 7k miles because I truly agree with the notion that oil is much cheaper than an engine or turbo lol. It also helps I do my own oil changes in my garage so it's not expensive at all to do the oil changes.

I do 5k changes with Amsoil 0w-20 purely by choice. I could let it go longer but I don't want to.
