What car did i buy ? Anyone know
Hello everyone i bought a used lexus at a local dealer. They sold me what they said was a 2014 lexus is250 F-sport. The badges/emblems had been removed before i bought the car. After owning and driving the car for more than 6 months i notice my tach states that I have 8 gear speeds. So my question is, can a is250 have an 8 speed transmission ?

Thanks everyone. It decodes as
But, I thought all is250 have a 6 speed transmission . And only the is350 have the 8 speed transmission. Why does my car say i have an 8 speed as shown in the picture above. Whats going on im so confused 🤷
“2014 Lexus
IS 250 4dr Sport Sdn Auto RWD”

Where did you find the VIN that you decoded? Was it somewhere on the car? If not, I would get the VIN from the car itself and see if it matches the VIN you used.

The cluster is showing the IS350 red line, looks like you have some 350 parts on the car for that to appear... Side note, the IS200T have the 8 speed transmission as well.
Post a picture of the engine bay, for you not to notice the cluster and gears, you may have overlooked other things as well.
Do you have the big front brake calipers?

Hello again. I used the decoder DenverMoto mention above(thank you). I used the vin from my window dash. The car does have the big brakes(advics) and i know for sure its not a is200t. Here are some pictures can someone decode my transmission code from the door vin . Thanks everyone.

I wasn't saying you have a 200T, just mentioning that the 200T comes with an 8 speed transmission.
Thanks for posting the engine bay picture, I was hoping the engine cover would be there, that would have been the biggest giveaway.
You'd have to look for a 2GR stamping on the block at this point.
I'm almost certain you have a 350 engine in there, when people do engine swaps, they hardly ever change the stickers on the hood (4GR = IS250).
I'm saying this based off the info showing up on your cluster. The redline isn't hard-coded, it adjusts based on the ECU/engine. I have an IS350 F Sport cluster in my IS200T and the redline corrected itself right away.
Also, 2014 IS250 did not come with the big brakes (as far as I know).

Thanks Lex_Giorgio . You think it might be an engine swap ? Why would you say that ? Here are some pics of my engine cover type and my actual brakes.
Also where is the engine code stamp located ? Ive been looking for that.
