CD player faceplate replacement?
Hello,
A friend of mine just got a used '21 350 and I noticed both the climate control and especially the CD player is scratched to all hell (the forbidden super gloss piano black). I know people who have had decent to horrible luck polishing these things, usually it looks worst due to the hazing effects. I suppose we could try a detail shop.
But anyhow, to my original question; is it possible to just replace these plastic face plates? Or are they permanently part of the CD player (because of course they would make them like that eh). I couldn't find much luck internet searching so I'm assuming it's a permanent part of the unit.

You could possibly get a head unit used that has the brushed faceplate and swap it. Would probably not be all that easy to do.
